Africa
I am an extinct subspecies of the black rhinoceros. Extinction was officially declared by the IUCN in 2011.
My cousin the white rhinoceros and I have two things in common: we both live in Africa, and contrary to what our names might suggest we are both grey! I seem intimidating with my horns and my armour-like skin, however I am quite calm and am herbivorous (I only eat grass and leaves).
Unfortunately, some Chinese medicine beliefs prompt poachers to kill us for our horns. These are supposed to have mysterious virtues, but they are only made from a substance similar to nails!

MY WEIGHT 800 to 1400 kg | MY LIFE SPAN 45 years | MY FAMILY 1 baby per litter | WHAT DO I EAT? Herbivorous | MY CONSERVATION STATUS Extinction declared by the IUCN in 2011 |
