Flamingo

With my long legs, long neck and candy floss colour, I do look peculiar ! My pink feathers are truly remarkable, but do you know why they are this colour ? In fact, I feed on the small crustaceans I find in silt and it is they who give my plumage this beautiful shade. I am widely distributed in Africa and I am easy to spot: I live in groups ; very large groups, since we can be several thousands ! But if you want to see me, no need to travel that far. I am also found across Europe and in France even, where I live in the marshlands of Camargue.
