Orca

I have black skin speckled with white, large oar-like fins and a large dorsal fin… I am… Orca, also called killer whale! I am a cetacean and the largest member of the Delphinidae family! I live in seas and oceans around the world but I prefer cold waters, so you are more likely to find me in the Arctic and Antarctic oceans.
I am 7.5 to 10 m long for a weight that can go up to 7 tons, and despite my size and my imposing weight I am the fastest marine mammal, and can reach 55kph! I am a top predator and feed mainly on fish, sea lions, turtles, dolphins, whales and sharks.
The main threats to my species are related to the reduction of our prey, interactions with fisheries, and boats and sea infrastructures damaging my natural habitat.
