Once upon a time...

Coq en Pâte is a children’s accessories and fashion brand, which places ethics in the heart of all creative processes and engaged socially and environmentally.
Because producing and consuming isn’t destroying, we wish to demonstrate and share our belief that it is possible to create, produce and sell whilst respecting humans and their environment.

Our products are manufactured in India out of organic cotton in certified factories, stationnery and beach kits are mainly made in France in ecologial materials.
Backpacks, rucksacks, t-shirts, bodysuits, pouches, valinty cases, bibs, sun hats, beach kits ... are all products that can be both pretty and responsible today.

Publishing choices are made through our commitments especially focused today on endagered species with our partner SOS/IUCN with the will to sensibilize and educate children to environmental concern.

SOS X COQ EN PÂTE Beginning of our partnership with Save Our Species, a program by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, mainly known to the public for editing the Red List of Endangered Species. Coqenpâte is committed to partner with SOS until 2021, by which time we will have help funding nature conservation and species protection projects by a minimum of 120,000 euros.

“TOMORROW” X COQ EN PÂTE Coq en Pâte supports the crowdfunding campaign for the movie “Tomorrow”, and edits t-shirts for the film. “Tomorrow” is a French documentary directed by Cyril Dion et Mélanie Laurent about initiatives led by eco humanist pioneers.

LAUNCH OF THE SOS LEMURS COLLECTION to support the SOS Lemurs program.

LAUNCH OF THE CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN FOR “KOGUMA” on Kickstarter. Koguma is an ethical piggybank, which uses design, playfulness and innovation to educate children about wild life protection!

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NATIONAL NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM FOR THE “ESPÈCES D’OURS!” EXHIBIT Collaboration with the National Natural History Museum for the exhibit “Espèces d’Ours!”, which allows young and old to meet these majestic wild animals.

PARTNERSHIP WITH DEBORAH PARDO Coq En Pâte supports the scientist-adventurer Deborah Pardo on her expedition to Antarctica as part of the Homeward Bound project, which promotes women’s participation to the world of science.

WAPITI MAGAZINE’S PELUCHODON INITIATIVE Coq En Pâte joins the Peluchodon initiative overseen by the magazine Wapiti, who celebrate their 30th anniversary. Thanks to stuffed toys donations from the public, Wapiti and Coq En Pâte are able to help fund the Foundation for Nature and Man created by Nicolas Hulot, who works with the Rajako program for the protection of big apes.

PARTNERSHIP WITH JULIEN MOREAU Coq En Pâte supports the eco-adventurer Julien Moreau on his stand-up paddle tour of Brittany (1,200 km). His objective: raise awareness of ocean pollution and the need for protecting our environment.

LAUNCH OF THE AFRICAN WILDLIFE COLLECTION program launched by SOS and the IUCN to help save and increase populations of African animals threatened with extinction.

PARTNERSHIP WITH SABRINA KRIEF Coq En Pâte commits to help with the preservation of the Sebitoli chimpanzees, by helping to fund forest rangers’ salaries for a year, as well as initiating awareness campaigns aimed at children.

Design

Illustrators, artists, graphists, designers who share our values (Byvirgo, Tinou Le Joly Senoville, Gwé, Janro to name but a few) give our products their originality and stylishness where modernism sits side by side with vintage feel and artistic bent. Collections have successively followed creative themes in partnerships such as with the film Océans by Jacques Perrin, the brand Petit Bateau (“J’aime ma Mer” collection), the National Natural History Museum, the Rodin and the Prado museum.

The meeting with Madeleine Rodgers (MIBO) and her animal paper toy creations prompted Coq En Pâte to commit more firmly to animal conservation, and to sign a partnership with the IUCN and its Save Our Species initiative. While the visual identity and design style flow directly from Madeleine’s universe, the collection’s thematic direction is tightly linked to current SOS activities in nature conservation.

Our loyal partners for production in India and France must also here receive thanks, as without their high standards for quality, their reactivity and adaptability, Coq En Pâte would not have survived!

Tomorrow ? More action...

We must keep improving, remain on the lookout for better production methods, lighter logistics. It is our goal for the next few years to be at every level a brand with a net positive impact on the planet… The renewed dynamism of a fashion industry with new brands, new production lines, new materials utilising recycled and natural fibres, spurs us on to continue fighting for our common benefit.
