Who am I?
Am I not the most famous of all animals?! My impressive mane causes me to be called the King of Animals, and my family and I rule over my kingdom, the African savanna. But did you know that in Antiquity, one could still find me in Europe?
The lionesses are generally in charge of hunting (wildebeest, zebras, warthogs) while males protect our territory from intruders or… mostly just sleep! We seem numerous in Africa.
However, like many species sharing this territory, competition with humans reduces our hunting space and in the future there may be not so many of us left…
