Who am I?
My huge colourful bill is known around the world, however its purpose is still unclear to scientists! Although very large, it is in fact very light and not much use in fights. It helps regulate my body temperature and may play a role in courtship…
I live mainly at the edge of the forests and woodland of South America, and as such am part of the few species that are inadvertently benefitting from the deforestation that is threatening so many others. My numbers are declining however, being hunted for food and the pet trade (my bright colours and intelligence make me very popular!).
