Who am I?
Although not very big, we are known to be extremely noisy, very active and showy! As a member of the parrot family we can of course imitate any sound, and can even be taught to talk by our human pet owners.
However there are not a lot of us left. Probably only between 300-2000 individuals live between the South-Eastern coast of Australia, and Tasmania where we fly back every September to mate and raise our fledglings. Deforestation and the introduction of non-native predators in Tasmania has destroyed an estimated 23% of our habitat, making nesting very challenging.
