WHERE DO I LIVE ?

WHO AM I ?

I am the devil fish, a big and amazing sea animal! I can grow up to 3.5 meters long and weigh more than a ton. My body is flat and wide, and I have two horns on my head. That’s why people call me the “devil ray”! These horns help me guide water into my mouth so I can filter it through my gills and eat tiny plankton and small fish.
I live in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and also in the Mediterranean Sea. I like swimming in deep places like underwater canyons, but I usually stay near the surface. Sometimes, I dive really deep—up to 700 meters!
I mostly swim alone, but I can also be with a friend or in a small group. I don’t have many babies—only one every 2 or 3 years—and my baby is already big when it's born, about 1.6 meters long! Not many animals try to eat me, but sharks like the mako shark sometimes do. Sadly, I am in danger because of fishing, plastic in the ocean, oil spills, and too many boats in the sea.
