North America, Europe and Asia
If there is a star of plush toys, it is me! Behind cute and surly appearances dwells an animal of great strength and speed (I can run at up to 55kph).
I am an opportunistic omnivore, meaning I feed on meat, fish, berries. mushrooms, roots, and anything I can find. In truth I am mostly a vegetarian.
There are about 250,000 brown bears left in the world. We live in North America, Europe and especially in Russia where half our population can be found! Did you know that some of us live in France? We used to be found in all French mountainous regions but today, we can only survive in the Pyrenees thanks to conservation efforts on your part.
Some of you still say we should be eradicated, as cohabiting with shepherds can sometimes be complicated. If you want to see me without leaving your sofa, check this out, from June to September you can watch me fish for salmons in Alaska!
