Africa
If you’ve seen The Lion King, you know what I look like, thanks to the character of Rafiki! My striped blue face, with a bright red nose in the middle, makes it easy to tell me from other monkeys. These colours are so bright that it seems as if I am wearing a mask!
I belong to the same family as the baboon but my species lives exclusively in the forests of Gabon and Cameroon (Africa).
I am mostly an herbivore, eating fruits, seeds or plants but I can also eat insects or small animals such as rodents and birds. In fact my bite is as powerful as that of my main predator, the leopard!
The main dangers to the survival of my species are like those threatening all other primates: deforestation and poaching. Forests are our sanctuary and it must be preserved!
